“It’s a new beginning for a band that never seems to be able to get past the first chapter.  They’ve just initiated their third bassist after their previous one got an offer to join the Nova Postal family as a member of Matthew and the Arrogant Sea (Denton, TX).  They’ve got a fresh EP ready for release, their second in less than a year, and they aren’t even legal to drink.

Criminal Shift is an outfit which takes the “high school band” label to a whole new level.  Their second release, The Fiction [EP], shows the evolution undergone by the band during the summer of 2008 after releasing and promoting their first EP.  They are tighter, darker, and more impressive than ever with this concise four-song set.  The songwriting and production of songwriter Douglas Schadt (17) and his troupe of musical allies, Hannah Hudson (18), Matt Dietrich (19), and Hunter Johnston (20) (now replaced by Will Conklin, 17), show a vision well beyond their collective years.  They craft explosive and meaningful indie rock balancing the days of old with the music of today for a sound which is truly unique.

Now ready to get back in the saddle, Criminal Shift plans to explore new roads as a band while promoting The Fiction EP throughout the summer of 2009.”
